Anyone knows which parts in HP books 1~7 mentioned that Lily Potter%26#039;s Patronus was a doe?


How did harry know that Lily Potter%26#039;s Patronus was a doe?





I really have no idea of that.





(except the part which Harry said, %26quot;Snape%26#039;s Patronus was a doe, the same as my mother%26#039;s.%26quot;)





If Lily Potter%26#039;s Patronus was really a doe,


then was Harry a fawn, then? since his dad was a stag. (It reminds me of a Disney movie)





Anyone knows what is the meaning of deer in magical world?

Reply:I don%26#039;t know. I don%26#039;t think it was ever actually said what her patronus was. Harry just assumes it was because his dad was a stag animagus, but that really doesn%26#039;t mean anything. Either it%26#039;s a mistake or we were told somewhere but it got cut out along the way.
Reply:Just thought i%26#039;d point out to %26quot;Unique%26quot; that Hermione%26#039;s patronums isn%26#039;t a beaver. It%26#039;s an Otter. It has nothing to do with facial features, such as teeth.

I don%26#039;t believe it has a meaning your patronus takes form from your personallity or just fom you...Ron%26#039;s patronus is a weasle cause his last name......Hermione%26#039;s patronus is a I like a beaver or a badger..beacise of her teeth.....get it.... And if I%26#039;m not mistaken that is the only mentioning of Lily patronus being a doe I don%26#039;t think it came up in any of the other books..............

Reply:It wasn%26#039;t mentioned that Lily%26#039;s Patronus was a doe, but it was more Albus%26#039;s reaction to Snape%26#039;s Patronus that hints at the similarity between Lily%26#039;s and Snape%26#039;s Patronuses. Remember that in %26quot;Half-Blood Prince%26quot; Tonks%26#039;s Patronus changed when Remus refused to be with her. JKR said in a recent web chat that a person%26#039;s Patronus %26quot;often mutates to take the image of the love of one’s life (because they so often become the ‘happy thought’ that generates a Patronus)%26quot;.





Harry%26#039;s Patronus is, and has always been a stag, his father%26#039;s Animagus form, because, as mentioned in %26quot;Prisoner of Azkaban%26quot;, his father lives in him.

Because if it was mentioned before the end of book 7, Harry woudl obviously know that it%26#039;s his mother%26#039;s patronus and he would get confused. They are also trying to find out who%26#039;s patronus it is. So it just wouldn%26#039;t make sense if Harry knew. I think it was from the pensieve
